I am so happy to be back on my bike! Had an awesome visit with my son in DC and hit the road this morning. The views through West Virginia and Virginia have been amazing. Drove through farmlands first. Ate at Spelunkers, a favorite local hamburger joint, and got on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It took a lot longer than expected because most of it was gravel! But the views of the valley and mountain ranges were amazing. I still have a couple hours to go before hitting the small town of Fancy Gap tonight. But I’ve stopped to enjoy a steak dinner with a nice view of the lake. I figure I need the sustenance for the gravel roads. 😀 I am hoping to avoid thunderstorms this week but they may be unavoidable. We will see. Either way, there’s no such thing as a bad day on the bike. I feel so blessed.
