July 7 - Beartooth Pass

Wow! What a day.

I’m not even sure what to say the highlight was but I think it was in Yellowstone watching a large male buffalo chase a small black bear, just two minutes after seeing a grizzly bear. I was so enthralled with the sight I couldn’t grab my phone. It’s also funny where you find unexpected treasures. I was waiting outside a rest stop and noticed cute little birds hiding in their mud nests. Then the cherry on top? One of my three favorite roads in the country - Beartooth Pass. I’m glad this wasn’t my first year. The wind was fierce. So instead of trying to get better at handling the many tight turns I was just focused on keeping the bike upright. It was still stunning and worth every minute. Now I get to eat at one of my favorite restaurants in the country - Piccola Cucina. I made dinner reservations for 8:00 and am starving! Yum!
