Kathleen Terner road to Custer

I just love riding my bike! Today was mainly about getting from point A (Red Lodge, Montana) to point B (Custer, South Dakota)- about 400 miles. The ride was so peaceful - lots of rolling hills and blue skies. I stopped at a delicious cafe for lunch (Andi’s coffee) and loved the sign: “Not all who wander are lost.” Yes! Often on these trips I just like to pick a direction and head out and see what happens. This week though I’m at one of only three towns in the country where I always stay more than one night. The owners of the Rocket Motel are super friendly, they cater to motorcyclists, and there is TONS of good riding everywhere. I can’t wait to see the prairie dogs, buffalo, and rock formations. I’m getting the bike serviced tomorrow in Rapid City because wouldn’t you know - even though I had it done in June I’ve already put 5,000 miles on. I’m trying to decide whether to attempt the Iron Butt challenge™ on Saturday or Sunday. I’ll keep you posted.
