So many beautiful vistas! It’s amazing to me that one geographic area (the Southwest) can have so much variety. I’ve visited the Grand Canyon several times but always from the South Rim. Today I visited the North Rim. It was a totally different (and still wonderful) world. It is at a much higher elevation so it is noticeably cooler. There were significantly fewer tourists and absolutely no tour buses! The strangest thing to me was the herd of wild buffalo! When I first entered the park I saw them rush across the road from right to left and I thought they were cows! I thought I was safe but then they rushed back across the road from left to right directly in front of me. I didn’t realize how fast buffalo could run! Looking forward to a couple long riding days as I head to Yosemite.
