February 6 - Lincoln City to Yaquina Bay with back roads home

What an A plus day! Met up with Leo Guzman Fernandez and Pete Padron at Latus and headed over to Spirit Mountain Casino to join up with Tony Clawson, Chris Johnson and a few more of the Twisted Misfits to go to the coast. It was awesome to see everyone and to ride with so many wonderful people. The best part of the whole ride? Taking back roads the looong way home. Woohoo! After eating in Lincoln City we drove south on 101 to Newport Beach then east around Yaquina Bay on the Yaquina Bay Road. I just love swooping around those back roads with the bay on your right and the countryside on your left. We headed east on Highway 20 as we did on our previous trip. But this time we took Priest Road north near Wren to Kings Valley Highway (Highway 223), 99East through Monmouth, highway 22 through Eola, and then 99E through Canby. Even though it was raining most the day it was a glorious ride! Lots of curves, wide open spaces, farmlands, fields, pastures, rolling hills, and orchards. Every time we passed a sign for Interstate 5 and turned the other direction, I laughed with glee, feeling a little bit like a rebel. There’s no such thing as too much time on the bike!
