April 25: Mr Ed’s Comes Through Again

It’s hard to believe that it was almost exactly five years ago that I first set up my Harley for cross country travel. Don Weber at Mr. Ed’s Moto had just finished customizing my seat to bring me closer to the handlebars and offered to install new luggage on the rack on the back as well. I’ve used his system successfully for over 100,000 miles, switching out bags, when necessary, as the zippers broke.

So, it only seemed appropriate to reach out to Don’s successor, Ryan Denno, when the cube on the back was discontinued, and I needed to replace it with a new one.

I know Ryan to be a friendly and capable customizer of seats in his own right. After working with Don on the seat for my Harley he subsequently created the seat on my Honda CB 500x, moving me closer to the front and shaving the foam down enough that I can now place both feet flat on the ground. His work has allowed me to comfortably and safely navigate Adventure Baby through four different continents.

Throughout all my interactions with Ryan he has been friendly, helpful, and communicative. It was great to catch up with him today as we worked together to find the most secure way to attach my new luggage to the Harley. I left his shop confident that I’ve got a new set up ready to take me another 100,000 miles. I’m happy to count Ryan as a valuable part of my biking community.
