A gift of Springtime sun after a week of winter weather

What a great day! Glorious sun, wonderful company, and lots of good food. After the snow, hail, and rain earlier this week the milder temperatures and clear skies provided the perfect backdrop for a jaunt down to Corvallis with the Salem Riders group and then a ride 365 chapter challenge party with Sunset HOG in Hillsboro.

After meeting up with the Salem Riders Group, Norm Reddekopp led us south on River Road out of Salem to Independence. It was amazing to me that such a beautiful road was just a few quick turns away from the fuel station – lots of nice curves, beautiful countryside views, and minimal traffic. From there we took highway 20 into Corvallis and met up for a meal at American Dream Pizza. It was great to catch up with Norm and the rest of the riders, eat some great pizza, and share motorcycle stories.

I had an errand to run in Newburg and headed north on highway 99 through Amity and Dayton on my way there. It was difficult to pass Blue Raeven Farmstand without stopping for pie but consoled myself with views of the beautiful rolling hills, green meadows, orchards, and farmlands.

From Newburg I headed to Hillsboro to meet up with Sunset HOG and celebrate their first-place win for mileage in the west coast region. It was absolutely wonderful to see so many friendly faces, celebrate our victory, and share about our motorcycle adventures.  What a great day!
