September 6 - Vernonia and Astoria

Fantastic ride to Long Beach today! Grant Myers led several of us from Latus through Vernonia, Astoria, and then Long Beach. Loved the curves on highway 47. It was great to get away from the heat, see the blue water, and spend time with friends. Got to see some seagulls diving for food and boats on the water and then mount hood on the way home. Oregon has it all. Grant Myers also gave all of us some quick lessons on what to do what you get a flat tire and broken shift linkage all in the same ride. Who knew how useful it would be to carry duct tape and bailing wire? I’m adding it to my list!
